Thirsty Thursdays is gaining popularity and thanks to Linked-In and to our individual efforts, the group is growing! Although it rained quite a bit last evening, it did not deter us from meeting. Far from it. It was one day before the start of the Olympics, but the group was already breaking records on all fronts. Participation and beer consumption reached new heights and the records for number of Indians and number of women were also smashed. Michelle handled the novelty of not being the only female remarkably well. Someone even went so far as to suggest that there could be more women, even though the ratio would then exceed what is customary in the industry.
We had a round of introductory session, discussed markets and exchanged ideas on how we can grow the group. The real esate discussions revolved mainly around Indonesia and India and to a lesser exent Singapore. Ideas discussed included occasional bbqs on weekends, new ways of sending and managing invitations, and whether to have some organised discussion before launching into the customary free-flowing chit chat. People had very good suggestions and we hope to be able to implement many of the ideas going forward, so keep a look out.
